We are sure that you have been affected by the serious financial crisis our country is facing. No doubt, you’re aware of the devastating effect it has had on school budgets, including that of Lake Tahoe Unified School District (LTUSD). It is all our schools can do to just meet core academic requirements, yet studies have shown that activities going beyond the basics enhance academic achievement and long-term student success.
Many of you have helped our children receive the quality education that they need and deserve in spite of these budget cuts! For over twenty years the Lake Tahoe Educational Foundation (LTEF) has provided funding for programs that enrich the educational opportunities for the students in LTUSD. LTEF funding restored 1st grade Class Size Reduction. In the past two years, enrichment grants offered to different schools have supported a choral performance program, music and art instruction, science demonstrations, asset building assemblies, after school enrichment programs, and other activities not available in the regular educational program.
By contributing to LTEF and becoming an active supporter, you can improve our grants program and share your ideas for current and future activities. Individual financial contributions to LTEF have never been so important as they are now to maintain these creative programs. Whether you are a first time donor or a long time supporter of LTEF, you donation in any amount is vital to the continued funding of these programs.
